CANADEM's Rapid Onset Humanitarian Emergency Experts Fund (RAP-Fund)

Helping agencies rapidly respond to humanitarian disasters all over the world

  alt

Earthquake in Haiti? Floods in Namibia? Hurricane in the Caribbean? CANADEM experts are amongst the first respondents!

The CANADEM Rapid-Onset Humanitarian Emergency-Experts Fund (RAP-Fund) rapidly deploys Canadian Humanitarian and disaster relief experts to support UN agencies' surge personnel needs during rapid-onset humanitarian and natural disasters.

The purpose of the RAP- Fund is to improve delivery of emergency humanitarian and disaster relief (food, shelter, security, etc.), thus contributing to the increased physical well-being of local and displaced vulnerable groups in conflict and disaster-affected communities.

CANADEM's RAP Experts have proven time and again that they can hit the ground running and make that crucial contribution during disaster and emergency recovery. Indeed, with CIDA's funding assistance, CANADEM has become an integral UN Stand-by Partner, frequently referred to as a center of excellence, for its unique, innovative recruitment procedures, and experts are often requested specifically of CANADEM and by name.
